Abstract
Real-time collaborative design of complex objects across great distances has been made much easier through the WWW. A number of issues, however, need to be resolved. These include the sharing and exchange of information on the design objects, the coordination and control of the collaborative design activities, and the management of the different design versions. This paper explores the three issues, and describes a prototype system that resolves these issues in the context of the collaborative design of complex geometrical objects.
