Abstract

A method to measure the phase velocity of surface acoustic waves was developed using an all-optical adaptive scanning acoustic microscope (O-SAM). Experimental results on single crystals were presented and the factors affecting the measurement precision and accuracy were discussed. The use of spatial light modulator (SLM) allowed to generate arbitrary optical distributions from the source laser.
