Abstract

This paper introduces a fiber-optic accelerometer array. By employing a uniquely designed transducer cylinder, we successfully convert vibrations into axial strain on the sensing fiber and demodulate the strain by phase-sensitive OTDR interrogation scheme. Furthermore, we demonstrate the effectiveness of the accelerometers in detecting idler faults within a conveyor system.
