Abstract

A 33.6 kbit/s reference measurement channel has been proposed for testing the performance of the demodulator in the UE for WCDMA systems. The test evaluates the overall bit error performance of the UE after channel decoding and does not provide separate information on the performance of the demodulator. The protocol conforms to the 3GPP standard and does not require additional changes to the UEs. It has been found that the use of measurement channel helps engineers to optimize the performance of the demodulators.
