Abstract
A programmable method which uses a single dispersive network and which is capable of performing temporal transformation on an input signal is described. Provided it satisfies a set of time and bandwidth constraints imposed by the dispersive clement, the input signal can be conveniently time-scaled with good waveform fidelity. A theoretical analysis giving the working principle of the method as well as enabling the output error to be estimated is developed. Experimental results from a laboratory set-up supports the analysis and demonstrates the feasibility of the approach.
