Abstract

Within the scope of this study, variants of titanium dioxide (T102)-containing aggregates were produced and tested in terms of their durability of the photocatalytic and mechanic performance. The aggregates were spread on the asphalt road surface coated with epoxy resin in order to decompose the emitted nitric oxides (NOx) in the exhaust gas of the vehicles as quickly and effectively as possible. From the results, it was ascertained that durable NOxdegradation can be achievable by using the TIO2in the spreading materials following the developed procedure. Thus, an important step of building environment-friendly road surfaces with NOxdegradation is taken.
