Abstract

Carbon footprint is becoming more and more popular nowadays due to increasing awareness among consumers to use low-carbon and ecofriendly products. And one more dimension is the pressure on industries to design and manufacture low-carbon products. Integrating sustainable measures into their production phase will definitely help their product to get an edge over other products of the same category in the market. This is also a value-added component to their product and simultaneously it also helps in decision making. Product carbon footprint (PCF) analysis of an electronic scale performed and reported here is the first of its kind in this field. The results will help the manufacturer identify the hotspots and reduce carbon emissions accordingly in all the life-cycle phases.
