Abstract

In the paper, a novel perspiration thermal manikin named "Walter" was used to study the heat and moisture transfer property of each layer and multi-layers garments at an ambient temperature of 10°C. Statistical relationships with the heat and moisture property between theoretical value and experimental value were also created. The results showed that it can use the theoretical value of basic or effective thermal insulation (moisture vapor resistance) to predict the experimental value of multi-layers garments.
