Abstract

: “. . . while without grammar very little can be conveyed, without vocabulary nothing can be conveyed” (Wilkins (1972, pp. 111–112). Vocabulary knowledge underlies proficiency in English communication. Research suggested that vocabulary size may also correlate with education level and intelligence. This talk shares facts about English vocabulary and research-informed strategies for effective English vocabulary learning. In this workshop, Dr. Lin will introduce useful practical resources for improving vocabulary learning and use.
