Abstract
In this paper, a power-line communication system using a type of discrete wavelet multitone (DWMT) modulation is discussed. An adaptive channel equalizer designed for the system is proposed. The equalizer is designed to minimize the error in the symbols received through an FIR channel with colored additive noise and narrow-band interference. The performance of the proposed system is investigated through computer simulation. A significant improvement over the OFDM approach is observed.
