Abstract
A postfabrication technique for writing fiber Bragg gratings in H2-loaded fiber with precise wavelength control is reported. The grating wavelength is highly stable and less than a 0.01-nm shift was observed after storing at room temperature for two months. This technique allows 1 nm of wavelength trimming and significantly enhances the grating thermal stability.
