Abstract

With the wide application of the measurement and communication technology in the modern power grid, the physical coupling degree of the information has been gradually deepened in the power network. Under this condition, the cyber-physical power system (CPPS) arises at the right moment. The phasor measurement unit (PMU) is the essential part of CPPS to complete the monitoring tasks safely and accurately. However, there are PMU data issues in CPPS, which can affect the stable and secure operation of CPPS. Therefore, this paper presents a systematic survey on the quality and security issues of PMU data as well as the countermeasure techniques in CPPS. Firstly, the main functions and principles of PMU are briefly introduced. Then, the data issues that PMU may encounter are summarized, and the countermeasure techniques that can be applied to deal with these PMU data issues are investigated. Finally, the application of the countermeasure techniques in CPPS are demonstrated and discussed.
