Abstract

This chapter first provides the definition and scope of clothing comfort. It then focuses on the various aspects of clothing physiological comfort, including tactile comfort, thermophysiological comfort, garment fit and ease of body movement, and pressure comfort. The assessment of these different aspects of clothing physiological comfort and their relationship to the properties of clothing materials, fabric and garment design, as well as environmental conditions, are discussed.
