Perspective and subjective outcome of the program from the participants

A total of 106 and 175 participants participated in the Astro Kids and Astro Teens Programs of Project Astro MIND in Hong Kong, respectively. After completion of the programs, participants were invited to respond to a subjective outcome evaluation form to assess their views of the program in terms of information giving, arrangement of the program, performance of the workers, and perceived effectiveness. Results showed that most of the participants had positive perceptions of different aspects of the programs and the instructors. There were high proportions of the participants who viewed that the program had helped them acquire healthier attitude towards refusing drugs, enhance their drug knowledge and improve drug refusal skills, drug refusal behavior and social skills. The subjective outcome evaluation findings based on the perspective of the participants provide support for the effectiveness of the Astro Program in Hong Kong.
