Abstract
In this paper, the performance of the multipleinput multiple-output (MIMO) systems using zero-forcing (ZF) detectors is studied over a Rice fading channel. Approximation to the distribution of non-central complex Wishart distribution is used to derive the bit error rate (BER) of the system. A closed-form expression of BER is derived. We draw the conclusion that the performance of the MIMO system over a Rice fading channel degrades compared to that over a Rayleigh fading channel.
