Pedestal free pulse compression in nonuniform fiber Bragg gratings

Abstract

We present the compression of chirped Bragg solitary pulses near photonic band gap of nonlinear fiber Bragg gratings with exponentially decreasing dispersion. Compression factor of the proposed scheme is two times larger than adiabatic compression.
