Abstract
A novel fibre Bragg grating displacement sensor is presented. Using a uniform density and thickness overlapped dual-isosceles triangular cantilever beam as a strain agent, it is demonstrated both experimentally and theoretically that this sensor is able to automatically compensate for wavelength shifts induced by temperature. The measured sensitivity of this sensor is 0.1051 nm/mm within the working range of -18-18 mm.
