Abstract
Emission characteristics of pulsed xenon dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) at intermediate high pressures were analyzed. The VUV emissions were measured by using two DBD lamps, filled with xenon, placed ina vacuum chamber under a pressure of less than 5.0 × 10-2 Pa. It was found that the wavelength of infrared laser from a tunable external cavity was around 823.16 nm. The results show that metastable atoms absorb the photons from the laser and are excited to the 2p6 level.
