Abstract

In vector control systems of induction motor, the performance of the systems depends on the precise measurements of motor parameters. This paper presents a parameter estimation method of induction motor at standstill. Based on the static model of the machine, a DC or a single phase AC current is injected into the motor, and then all the parameters, that is resistance and inductance, are estimated by processing transient response data. The effect of the nonlinearity of the system is concerned and compensated to improve the estimation precision of the parameters. The experimental results are also presented to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method.
