OSNR and CD tolerant PMD monitoring using polarization diversity and DSP

Abstract

A simple and cost-effective PMD monitoring technique using polarization diversity is proposed. Simulation results show that the monitoring error within 5.9 ps for effective DGD ranging from 6.25 ps to 56 ps can be realized.
