Abstract

Organizational Decision Support System (ODSS) is an innovation which holds potential for improving production management practices. Managers of change in manufacturing are supported with ODSS to execute all necessary tasks in parallel and accomplish them towards the goal of Just-In-Time. ODSS concept is still evolving but some initial prototypes are readily available and are being used by even small manufacturing enterprises. The availability of such ODSS implementation case is most valuable as it sheds light on future Advanced Production Management Systems. They can be extrapolated to identify the various ways of support provided by ODSS, and the necessary prerequisities. Furthermore, the talents that drive the changes and the mechanism that provides the opportunities are explored.
