Abstract

An easily assembled and highly sensitive Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) utilized fiber optic sensor coated with (polyvinyl alcohol) PVA and carbon nanotubes (CNTs)/PVA is proposed here for nitrate sensing. The sensor showed a sensitivity of 33.7 pm/ppm concerning nitrate solutions of 0 ppm to 50 ppm.
