Abstract

The performance of the adaptive decision-aided maximum likelihood algorithm is investigated in nonlinear-phase-noise-dominant coherent optical MPSK systems. The power penalty at bit-error rate of 10-4 and Q-factor at optimal launched power are both significantly improved.
