Abstract

Quantitative research method is a deductive approach for the testing of hypothesis to investigate certain phenomena. It was used to study the relationship among quantifiable variables. The use of statistical instrument for data analysis is one of the characteristics of quantitative research. There are different types of quantitative research methods that can be used in the nursing studies. In this chapter, the observation methods and questionnaires will be discussed. This chapter consists of five sections including observation methods, questionnaires, comparison of observation methods and questionnaires, application in nursing research and conclusion.
