Abstract

Evacuation patterns in a lecture hall were simulated by the evacuation model buildingEXODUS. Factors affecting the performance of each exit were considered with four scenarios. Parts of the results were compared with those predicted by another evacuation model, SGEM, and field measurement data in an evacuation drill. From this study, more exits should be provided for buildings with higher occupant loads. Evacuation software is recommended for designing the emergency evacuation plan.
