Abstract

Wind action on the four connected buildings of an international finance building in Beijing was simulated. Variations of the wind pressure data on the buildings with the wind direction were presented and compared with the wind tunnel results measured in the literature. Pressure contours and velocity vectors around the buildings were predicted. Analysis of the distribution of temperature and velocity between the four buildings showed that a fire plume can be developed rapidly. Better design for providing fire safety was recommended.
