Abstract
The steady two dimensional flow induced by a submerged line jet group in shallow water is obtained by a numerical solution of the full transient shallow water equations. The numerical scheme which uses Hermitian cubic basis functions for spatial interpolation and a fractional step method in time is validated against detailed laboratory experiments for a wide range of ambient conditions.
