Abstract

A comprehensive finite element investigation into the structural performance of composite slabs under standard fire tests is performed in order to establish effective tools to assess the fire resistances of the composite slabs. This paper presents the thermal analyses of the composite slabs in which detailed temperature distributions within the composite slabs at various FRPs are obtained. Some of the key thermal parameters in the thermal models are also discussed in details. Based on the predicted temperature histories, the structural performance analyses of the composite slabs may be determined and are presented in an accompanied paper.
