Abstract
A novel method for writing long-period fiber grating was presented, by which a microlens array was used to focus a parallel wide-beam quasi-molecule laser into a parallel optical streak line with equal pitch and project it to a single-mode fiber. It is possible to use several hundred excimer laser pulses to write a long-period fiber grating. This method has the advantages of high efficiency and time saving, while its writing speed is much higher than that of conventional method.
