Abstract
A novel image restoration method using the modified evolution strategy (MES) is presented. Three main improvements consist of coordinate descending mutation, a `survival of the fittest' selection rule, and hybrid evolution strategies. Theoretical analysis and experimental results demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method.
