Abstract

Enterprise Distributed Object Computing (EDOC) 2006, held in October 2006, in Hong Kong, brought together leading researchers, architects, and practitioners from academia and industry to discuss enterprise computing challenges and solutions. The sessions in the conference included enterprise services, enterprise architecture, enterprise management, enterprise applications, enterprise security, and service oriented architecture. The topics discussed at the conference included 'From trading to eCommunity population: responding to social and contractual challenges' and 'Paradigm shift of telecommunications services and management for next generation networks (NGN)'. Various workshops held at EDOC 2006 included subjects on vocabularies, ontologies and rules for the enterprise, middleware for web services, and models for enterprise computing.
