Abstract

To help the product development team select optimization solutions with multiple objectives interactively in the product family design process, a multi-objective optimization model for product family design was proposed, and multi-objective genetic algorithm was designed to solve the proposed model. Factors such as market segmentation, product utility, competitive products, consumer purchasing behavior and product development cost were considered in the modeling process. A case study was provided to evaluate the feasibility of the proposed model and method.
