Abstract
Dynamic responses of a simple supported beam due to a moving mass were discussed with the vehicle velocity varies continuously. The beam midpoint dynamic displacement calculation was performed preliminarily, with the vehicle velocity varies in discrete values. Further analysis was obtained with the vehicle velocity varies continuously at the section of 0-60 m/s. It is concluded that the beam midpoint maximum displacement increases with the vehicle velocity increasing most of the time, but not monotonously. The beam dynamic response decreases in some sections while the vehicle velocity is less than 22.5 m/s in the simulated cases. Furthermore, the vehicle position is always in the section of 0.35-0.75 to the bridge while the response obtains the maximum, and the vehicle position also increases in some velocity sections.
