Abstract

Novel moving least-square (MLS) approximation based shape functions are constructed for triangular element with variable nodes. The new shape functions are applied to deal with the sliding-surface for modeling the rotation of electric machines. Numerical result shows that the new method is accurate and valid in dealing with non-conform meshes. F
