Abstract

Concrete-Filled Double Skin Tube (CFDST) consists of two steel tubes (called the outer tube and the inner tube) with concrete infill between the outer tube and the inner tube. This paper presents a closed form solution for the moment capacity of CFDST beam. Four possible combinations of the outer tube (rectangular or circular) and the inner tube (rectangular or circular) are considered. Consistent format is adopted for moment capacity design equations for the four combinations. The predicted moment capacity is compared with those obtained from experiments.
