Abstract

Permanent Magnet Vernier (PMV) machine has become a hot research direction of electric machines recently. In addition, the fault tolerance is also critical for special machine design in hostile conditions. This paper proposes an efficient PMV machine with the modular winding configuration. The key is to achieve the independent control of each module and perform the high isolation of the windings. Finally, the machine basic characteristics and the fault-tolerant operation are performed and verified, which demonstrates the validity of the idea.
