Abstract
An empirical model for predicting the NOx emissions in a low NOx tangential coal fired boiler is presented. The model relates the theoretical and actual NOx emissions, and its development is based on the lumped parameter method. With the aid of the developed model, the frontline boiler operating personnel can predict the NOx emissions of a boiler operating at different conditions, including different boiler loads, different air distributions and different burner combinations, with a simple approach.
