Abstract

An analytical procedure is proposed in this paper to establish the nonlinear moment-rotation (M-Φ) characteristics of semi-rigid composite beam-to-column connections with flush end plates. The proposed analytical model, which has been verified with the available experimental results, can give sufficiently accurate M-Φ predictions. The predicted behaviour can easily be represented by an exponential function. The function can be directly incorporated into composite frame analysis to simulate the semi-rigid beam-to-column connections.
