Abstract

ABSTRACT: Refrigerant vapor injection in scroll compressor can improve the heat pump system performance on cold regions. A suitable model is necessary to system simulation. Based on the simulation results of an accurately dynamic model introduced in this paper, a new lumped parameter model is put forward. This model simplifies the complex injection process to a simple mixing process, with discussion of injection ports scope, mean position point, mixed process, and mass flow rate. Validations and comparisons show the model is able to guarantee accurate calculation basically, with greatly reduction of calculation time. The new lumped parameter model is fairly useful for system simulation and engineering applications.
