title = "Mobile gateway operation system for industrial wearables",
abstract = "Wearable technology is the icing on the cake of people's daily life with unparalleled convenience. The emerging of industrial wearables has brought the advantages of wearable technology to industries, which endows the industrial objects with sensing abilities. These advantages have also been well accepted by E-commerce distribution centers (ECDC) to facilitate their manual operations such as picking, sorting and consolidating. Aiming at accelerating fast deployment for industrial wearables, this paper proposes a lightweight framework for mobile middleware system called Mobile Gateway Operation System (MGOS). It is an overall middleware solution to bridge multiple heterogeneous industrial wearables with enterprise information systems (EISs). A hot universal plug and play (HUPnP) mechanism is designed to make industrial wearables easy-to-use and ensures the availability under the disturbed wearable environments. A prototype system is developed and demonstrated based on E-commerce consolidation scenarios in laboratory environment.",
