Mid-Infrared Self-Similar Picosecond Pulse Compression in a Suspended Inversely Tapered Silicon Strip Waveguide

Abstract

We design a suspended inversely tapered silicon strip waveguide for high degree self-similar picosecond pulse compression. A 1.5-ps input pulse at wavelength 2250 nm is compressed to 46.73 fs in a 2.79-cm long waveguide taper.
