Abstract
2016 OSA. We propose generation of 2.5 octave-spanning frequency combs in a suspended germanium-membrane ridge waveguide. The spectral range extends deep into the mid-infrared 'fingerprint' region up to 12 μm, which cannot be realized using silicon-based waveguides.
