Abstract
A simple method for rapid microorganism identification was presented. The feasibility of generating amino acid sequence tag information from microorganisms was demonstrated. In the method, no prior isolation or fractionation and no new search algorithm or database are needed. With on-slide digestion, less sample is consumed. The method can be applied to bacteria and to microorganism mixtures.
