N2 - We report microfiber evanescent-wave photothermal spectroscopy for trace gas detection. With a 2-cm-long silica microfiber, detection limit of 440 ppb methane is achieved with dynamic range of nearly six orders of magnitude and response time of less than 7 seconds.
