Abstract
A study on the use of waveletlike basis functions with vanishing moments to solve a plane wave incident on a piecewise linear metallic strip is presented. The electric field integral equation (EFIE) for the unknown surface current distribution is formulated. The effects of the edge discontinuities, discretization size, and the number of vanishing moments on the sparsity of the impedance matrix and the error of solution are discussed.
