Magneto-mechanical tuning of fiber Bragg grating filter

Abstract

The use of a linear magnetic actuator for the tuning of a fiber Bragg grating filter is demonstrated. Experimental results show that the tuning repeatability is better than 1.4% within a 2-nm tuning range.
