Abstract

Magnetic environment in large commercial buildings is getting worse as the demand on power and energy is ever increasing. In this paper, characteristics of magnetic field sources are described, together with the method of numerical computation. The strategies for magnetic field mitigation in commercial buildings are identified, and principles of magnetic field mitigation are discussed. To achieve a compatible magnetic environment, good practices of electrical installations are illustrated with practical examples. Finally, guidance for applying mitigation measures in commercial buildings is provided.
