Abstract

Flux switching permanent magnet (PM) motor is a new type of brushless motor which has been developing over the past decade [1]. However, its high efficiency and high power density rely heavily on the usage of PM materials. With concerns on supply limitations and hence cost fluctuations of PM materials, a magnetless double-rotor flux switching motor (FSMs) with DC field excitation has been proposed and analyzed [2].
