Abstract

The simplified mathematical model of the permanent magnet linear motor is developed in this paper. By applying Lyapunov’s stability theory, the authors propose a model reference adaptive controller. Then the controller is evaluated by simulation. The results show that the MRAS is superior to the conventional PID controller in dynamic performance and steady precision. The MRAS is robust to the parameter variation and external disturbance.
