Abstract

This paper clearly demonstrates the process of load modeling. It contains basic load modeling terminology, the need for improved load model in smart grid environment, industry requirements for load models and load model methodology. The load modeling process is introduced in three parts: data collection, load aggregation and load model validation. Typical load models and parameter estimation techniques are reviewed.
